A true classic with a well-paced plot, some of the best scenery-chewing classically trained actors put to screen, and a version of New York that feels like a dangerous, mysterious fantasy world of colorful gangs and conspiracy. Fun, creative, and just plain cool.

I'll admit it, I didn't really like the first act of this movie. It felt aimless and like the film was going through the motions to get to the concepts it wanted to play with.

When it gets going though? Despite how silly it sounds to describe to someone the story is fascinating, unflinchingly terrifying at parts, and as with all of Peele's movies; entrenched in a bunker of clearly voiced themes.

Stay for the monster, it's one of my favorite cinematic monsters in years.

Also there is a romantic subplot between one of the band members and Daphne, for some ungodly reason.

This movie is a ride which is only made more insane and bad by the presence of Kiss.

This is far from a perfect movie, and I'd strain to say that it's a good movie for most people, but if you're into animation and thinking about hard subjects, this movie is oddly beautiful and meditative in its themes of death, legacy, and identity to the point that when I first saw this I was crying by the end. It's a tale less about its…
