    Solid 8/10

Excellent concept and plot. Navigated the memory aspect of the story masterfully with interesting cinematography and funny moments during childhood scenes. Excellent subplot that really made you think about the nature of memory and the lessons we learn from even the saddest parts of our lives. Showed how important our experiences are to who we are and how we can never truly escape the way we are. solid ending with good music and reflection.

    8/10 overall

Excellent animation as always with beautiful character design And incredibly creative world building and imagery. Beautifully incorporated aspects of Japanese culture to create a one of a kind vision of some sort of spirit world. The plot throughout was interesting and fast only one loose end was that they never explained the conflict between Haku and Yababa sister. Excellent kids movie with beautiful undertones that incentivize virtues like hard work, honor, initiative, kindness, love.

Last third of the movie took a turn and really helped expose the real meaning behind it which discussed themes of class divide, privilege, childishness, ideas about the good life, and ultimate failure. I felt it was very slow with long silences that didn’t necessarily need to be done at the end but overall had excellent acting. The final scene was incredible with Anora coming…
