staggering and dark and nasty and sexy and obsessive. beautifully shot and edited, FANTASTIC performances from everyone, the visuals and the world are so engrossing. loved seeing gothic horror’s weird relationship to religion/theology on full display. packed full of biblical references, making it feel somewhat allegorical or prophetic in that way, but can be read from so many angles. clearly such a passion project, and just so fun and dreadful and theatrical. definitely…

this went SO hard. however, i love campy body horror so i recognize that i am the target audience and this will not be for everyone. but it did what it wanted to do extremely well. my only qualms are that it dragged a bit at times and that i didn’t see it in theaters!!
shot and edited beautifully, the makeup and special effects were PHENOMENAL!! sets were amazing, score was BANGING, stellar performances. so visceral, and i loved the slow harrowing build to that wild third act, i had a blast!!!

absolutely phenomenal. monumental. literally cinematic and cultural history in the making. i was never bored or uninterested once, completely engrossed the entire time! i could have sat there and watched more and just lived in that universe for days, FOREVER, AS LONG AS I BREATHE. way too short in my opinion. i never want these to end. collectively might be one of my favorite things ever tbh.
