I would never think that the creepiest nun film of all time was actually a Rivette 60's horror fairytale.

The Addiction 1995
A vision of hell: vampires who endlessly name-drop philosophers they don't know much about. You see, there's a good film hidden somewhere underneath the pretentious gibberish that consumes most of the screen-time. But there's way too much gibberish, way too much pseudo-intellectuality, way too much name-dropping for it to be found.

Poor Things 2023
- Half of it I found amusing, the other half just strikes me as an overworked, dumbed-down hype-machine. Colors, weird cameras, "quirk".
- The discursiveness of the third act is intolerable. I guess it comes with the package, though, that a film with this budget must have over-explanatory dialogues so that it justifies its existence. "Clear messaging", "affirmative ending", "literal symbology" and "banal thoughtfulness" are some of the rules of the current Zeigeist.
- Ambiguous feeling: at least this blockbuster…
