Is it supposed to be grotesque, funny, sexy, artsy, or shocking? The movie doesn’t know. Behind its beautiful cinematography (I only wish the Oxford scenes actually feel like England) and really good performances, the film is “standing on the stage with a 4’33, trying to sell a car without an engine.” It refuses to examine its characters, asks no questions, has no thesis, and simply screams PARTYYY like a first year college student.
