This movie is fine. The racing scenes are pretty good, they do a good job of building the tension in these but the rest of the movie is pretty predictable. I thought Michelle Rodriguez was gonna do a lot more in this movie but she barely said two lines. Same with Mia. Joy Ride 2023
I know I’ve said this about the past few movies I’ve seen but this movie was SO FUN. This might be my own fault for watching mostly comedies but this one was HONESTLY SO GOOD. Best one I’ve seen in a while, really my kind of humor. I wonder if this is how men feel when they see a movie with Adam Sandler or whoever.
Definitely recommend!
Also, Stephanie Hsu deserved that Oscar.

Honestly, this movie was really cute and fun, I really liked the dynamic between the sisters (it choked me up a little). I wish the movie had done a little more world building at the beginning because I didn’t know if the fight scenes were real life or happening in Ria’s head. Also, the movie goes to some weird places I must say.
There’s some commentary in there about women’s bodies and reproductive rights which I can enjoy.
All in all, I would rewatch this movie if only to appreciate Ria’s hair.

Generally, this was a pretty enjoyable, fun movie. Didn’t really stray from the original too much, so don’t expect anything new other than they actually gave Eric a personality. I truly hate to give a man praise but Eric really ate.
