An autopsia cadaverum that's totally disinterested in dramatic opening & closing arguments. Instead we only get the trial's body, full of the precedents & decorum that are so important to case law sitting right next to it's frailty & baseness. The subject matter is surprisingly obscene for the year it was released & they really didn't hold back. Very fun premise that I wish the movie had more confidence in. It really didn't need the lame interview scene in the middle that explained all the fun details & mysteries away in the most boring unnatural way possible. That being said I'm still impressed with the commitment to the ridiculous impossible premise. If this was made today half of the runtime would have to be spent explaining everything so joyless nerds on reddit don't cry about plot holes. It has an earnestness that we rarely get these days.

Thank God the New Deal got rid of all the folksy brunette creek sirens back in the 30s or I'd never have made it out of Mississippi when I drove through it a couple years ago. My ass would've been sqating on a lily pad plucking a banjo singing rainbow connection if you catch my meaning.

    Except those who die here!"

Sorry Billy Shakespeare but I am following Joan into battle not Henry.
