  And man it’s just so good, I reckon people are gonna be coming back to this film as a classic for a long, long time.

  The themes are woven in so subtly that it took my slow brain a second watch to connect most of the dots. And I know I’m still behind probs bc it’s me.

  (themes I noticed this time just for my own record:
  -nods to western cinema with all the standoff moments and cowboy hat ufo imagery 
  -legacy, territory, claim

  i love the first three pirates of the caribbeans  but idk. it just doesn’t work with only jack bc you know he’s gonna be fine you know? there’s no stakes. the mermaids are cool tho it’s still worth the watch.
