Downhill 2020
I actually thought this movie was very real (although slightly depressing) It was definitely advertised as more of a comedy than it was, which is why most people probably didn’t love it. I think everyone can say they have had a family vacation that went something like this- parents arguing, an avalanche, etc, and I think Will Ferrell and Julia Louis-Dreyfus really sold it.

Never Rarely Sometimes Always 2020
Does anyone think that Sidney Flanigan is Paul Dano’s twin? That’s all I could think about this entire movie. Besides that exciting thought, the majority of this movie was painfully slow and awkward. I truly believe that Sundance films only allow 500 words of dialogue.
I do, however, think that the acting from Sidney Flanigan was great. The “never, rarely, always, sometimes” scene was extremely heartfelt and the only part of the movie that really sparked any emotions.
It ended with both my mom and I saying, “that’s it?” and I feel like that sums it up perfectly.
