  Some parts were suffocating, terrifying, and really believable. Especially in the first half leading up to Thomas’ escape from the castle.

  Scene setting and general attention to detail were impeccable as the Eggman did what he does best.

  Some of the acting wasn’t so good, but was very pleasantly surprised by Lily Rose Depp. Thought she would be shite but she was great.

  Was really taken overall with the imagery - some stills could be taken straight from a painting. 

  Having said that tho, I do think some elements weren’t as cohesive as they could be and maybe a little bit bloated.

  Watched this for the first time about 14 years ago, and it stuck with me then, even as a 14 year old.

  Have since read the book, and this is my first time watching the film again as an adult. It’s still just as devastating, and more resonant. The last 15 minutes had my heart in my stomach.
