I loved this movie until the last 10 minutes. While I obviously like the message, I thought the plot twist didn’t fit the tone of the rest of the movie and therefore felt so forced. The combo of super realism to then a way out of left field bomb drop at the end was so unnatural. IMO a plot twist should either make you change the way you interpret the previous events in the story or should then be a fork in the road that leads to an even more interesting outcome. But this did neither and was completely inconsequential. Ralph Fiennes is amazing. That’s all.

I’m not sure the mixture of emotional deep messaging + campy horror worked for me. I kept wishing it was either completely campy or completely dark and serious. I did have a good time watching it and I think the Kubrick references were interesting!
