It’s aite.
This has been my prognosis on most biopics this year so let’s focus on the positives.
Timmy did a lovely job of the singing, the instrument playing, and the Dylaning. My main issue is this; everyone in that film is far too Hollywood ’good looking’ to play their characters, leaves the whole thing feeling a tad spoofy.
Bear in mind this review is biased as Nosferatu and my wardrobe walk somewhat hand in hand. It was not the art house horror I was expecting, but instead, a playfully dark take on the tale. My favourite part was when count orlock reaches for a hit of blood and has a crazy arch in his back, Bill did not come to play. Lily was phenomenal, so was Willem Dafoe but he can do no wrong so it’s to be…
Heartbreaking, heartwarming sometimes silly this movie fills me with warm British nostalgia. Tom Hardy plays Stuart bizarrely but well and manages to stay handsome throughout. Cumberbatch, plays annoyingly middle upper class pretty perfectly, but we love Alexander despite his voyeurism. Deffo a good watch!
