Blue Velvet 1986
took me long enough, regardless this is my first david lynch film and im pleasantly surprised. lynch pulls off the ominous and surreal dreamlike atmosphere effortlessly, in a way that makes you feel extremely uncomfortable yet intrigued at the same time.Β
this film is rich in symbolism, but one symbol that stood out to me was the ending with the robin and cockroach, it shows that we as humans are simultaneously capable of love and evil.

2001: A Space Odyssey 1968
a masterpiece way ahead of its time, and one i dont think ill ever quite fully understand. the cinematography is truly immaculate and makes it one of the most visually appealing films ever made, every shot is breathtaking.
the visual effects are still impressive and hold up today. i was watching the galaxy sequence with a friend (czeΕΔ nadia π) and i remember turning to her and asking βhow the fuck did they do that?β ππ

Rosemary's Baby 1968
got a sudden urge to rewatch this and somehow its even better than when i first watched it around a month ago. the film starts out hopeful, with a young couple simply looking for a new apartment to move into, but slowly, yet smoothly morphs into something deeply disturbing and horrifying. mia farrows performance is absolutely stellar, seeing rosemary being forcefully isolated and controlled by her own husband, and even neighbors. it makes you feel helpless. shes a victim of his own greed.
