This movie was such a slow burn, and I loved every second of it. The climax of Jesse having the standoff and getting the money really reflects how much he changed yet remained the same throughout the series; in some of our final moments with him, his face is scarred, he’s traumatized, he’s committed a series of murders, and even with the federal government after him, he still decides to spare people, sticking to his honorable but fragile code.

I'm really surprised by how good this movie turned out to be, not just as an actual film but as a Comic Book adaptation. It clearly took a lot of inspiration from The Killing Joke and other aspects of the Batman mythology, but it doesn't adhere to all the different tropes that are associated with superhero blockbusters. It's slow-paced, character driven, puts substance over style, is highly open to interpretation, etc.
