  I liked two thirds of this, but felt like it lost its way a little. Maybe a symptom of the COVID interrupted production? Something interesting in there of Santi as an unreliable narrator, and what that means for the third act, but it didn't quite hang together.

  Peppered with moments of surrealism, bursts of humour and a powerful ending, this is a slow-burning examination of buried secrets, trauma and shame as a family come together for an uncle's funeral in Zambia. The film takes its time to peel back the layers, revealing the burdens that the women carry for the men in their community, and the careful balance between tradition and progress the younger generations are reaching out to. At the centre of it is a fantastic central performance by Susan Chardy, grappling with the choices she might have to break the cycle where so much remains unsaid and unacknowledged.
