  Can't do anything but compare it to the book, which deeply affected me. This film is great on visual and technical level, but characters just don't work for me and there is no dynamic in the relationship, in fact they don't even feel like a family, and the madness of Jack doesn't feel like a tragedy in relationship Father-Mother-Son. I just lacked deepness in characters... However some scenes were really epic and tense. Great sound.
