Ghost World 2001
Watching the movie right after reading the comic was a mistake, because the comic is so much better than the movie
Ghost world is a comic about pretty much nothing. Things occur, but nothing goes anywhere, and that’s kind of the point. Unfortunately that makes for a really bad movie, so they had to give it a real plot, and the movie is worse for it. I had possibly the coolest viewing experience of this, i watched it at a museum full of people who fucking loved this movie, and then afterwards i got to meet john turturro, who had also watched the movie. Power move on his end.
This movie was very good and very topical for me, considering the fact that I’m in a New York arts program. Artists are kind of inherently pretentious, i think you have to be to think your art…
