I was locked in. I remembered why Robert Pattinson is my forever celeb crush. And Toni Collette is awesome. The Mark Ruffalo Trump impression was a bit much. All in all I had a good time.
And this was the first film with a happy ending (not that kind!) I’ve seen in awhile.
I’ve been thinking about this film a lot since I saw it. The bar scene, the childhood montage, the attempted escape. It’s a beautiful film and a devastating watch.

I really appreciate movies that explore the effects of genocide without necessarily displaying the actual genocide itself. While the film takes place after the Holocaust, it nevertheless pervades everything that happens to our protagonist and his art. Loved this film.
I will never get these minutes back. This movie was boring. It lacks an emotional core. I felt nothing but eager for it to end. The actors are great, tho.
