The film powerfully exposes the patriarchal structures of power and silence that enable abusers. Her courage in standing against these forces was remarkable. There were moments that made me want to cry, moments that filled me with anger on her behalf, and others where I felt genuine fear for her

    As a debut film, I’d say it’s impressive — you can clearly see its influence echoed in many films today. I was leaning toward an overwhelmingly positive impression, until they had to ruin it with #that scene.
