The documentary Wild Life by Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin tells us a story about Douglas Tompkins, co-founder of North Face, and Kris Tompkins, his wife and co-founder of Patagonia, preserving the so called “wild life” in Chile and Argentina by buying land and turning it into national parks. What seems like a hopeful story about a couple saving the planet at first sight, turns out to be an involuntary document of the celebration of white saviorism.
