Beautiful cinetography, quality acting cast, simple yet affective storyline. Smart, funny, witty, excellent sound track and a modern interpretation of Shakespeares the taming of the shrew. The two highlights for me which elevate this above other contemporary American teen dramas such as American pie or can't hardly wait are. Firstly heath ledgers character singing I can't take my eyes of you with accompanying marching band. Secondly Kat and Biancas over protective, worried, woefully unhip dad stealing absolutely every scene he is in.

A good, solid film with authentic dialogue, fashions and location. However Boyz in the Hood, Menace to Society, above the rim, new Jersey drive and clockers are all superior versions of the same theme and story.
