The Shawshank Redemption 1994
Every 40 something upper middle class white guy you talk to will 90% of the time have this as their favorite movie. It probably has something to do with the fantasy that your finance degree will be of help in prison.
Movie is great, if overrated. This movie lives off its slow pace, there's little plot connecting everything but what surrounds the plot has heartfelt conversations and interactions between prisoners carries the film's worth.

Pacing isn't something you notice unless its bad, usually. This movie is 2 hours but feels like 30 minutes. The plot moves quick and no scene overstays its welcome.
