  As someone who loves the book and has seen the musical once, this was better than I was expecting. The actors being weird af in interviews and on social media was a turn off, but the georgeous set designs and acting (from most people) made it pretty good. I'm not really a fan of musicals, but this one had enough actual dialogue and story that I sometimes forgot that it was a musical. I just had some moments of "oh right, they're about to sing aren't they". That said, some of the songs were pretty good.

  I genuinely loved this movie, which is amazing because I was not expecting to like it. It was entertaining, visually appealing, funny, and the characters were done justice (in the best ways). I was very pleasantly surprised. One plot point went absolutely nowhere and felt forced, but I can forgive that because I never got bored watching it.
