  Gone is the countercultural post-war palomino, replaced by a raunchy 2000s animal gag character with a CGI mouth (which is where I suspect most of this pilot's budget went). Four decades after the original, the titular Mr. Ed does not provide clever cultural commentary, but a series of cheap punchlines at the expense of the cosmopolitan Popes.
