A film that could have been much better. The direction is interesting, but the acting of some characters is not good. Among various unconvincing things, I was very annoyed by the obvious playback whenever there was a sung scene. On the other side, the scenes of sisterhood are beautiful and the reproduction of the Italian vernacular is appreciable. The character of Francesco is flat for most of the time and doesn't work well.
