  A sweet story about the origin of the magical chocolatier. There are a few callbacks to the previous movies without being too heavy handed. Wonka is a lighthearted movie with funny moments, well executed songs, and lovable characters.

  Pretty good cinematography, but the writing and plot fell a little short for me. I felt that there were many gaps that the viewer had to fill in themselves, and the setup of the movie didn’t feel very realistic.
