Cuties 2020
Watch TikTok, Instagram or American Beauty Competitions. This movie depicts the problems of oversexualization which is everywhere. If it disturbed you, then it did exactly what it wanted to do. It can only reach that many people through media and hopefully it changes something. The message of the movie is good.
Why it is 3 for me: The writing is not on point, some storylines are a bit out of context. You do not have to film the butts and vag.nas to have a message... One knows what the are doing without seeing their butts wiggling explicitly.Translated from by -
The Forest of Love: Deep Cut 2020
It is stunning, grotesque and very drastic. The story is about love, a desastrous moviemaker-team and a serial killer. It depics the social pressure, reaching adulthood, voyeurism, the glorification of being a virgin, a movie in an movie.... the camera work is great. The light remembers of theatre and underlines the weird feeling while watching. It is kind of overwhelming because it shows reality unwashed and overexaggerated.
