No wonder the blu-ray at the cinema gave up halfway through the movie.. would’ve done the same thing. Too bad it worked again after a few minutes. Could’ve done without seeing the second hour of this shitshow

Almost physically painful to watch at times yet also incredibly beautiful. Raw, emotional and definitely not sugarcoating, Close to you portrays being trans in the context of family in such an honest kind of way (as far as I can tell). I really loved how the camera focused on Sam almost all the time even when he wasn’t the one talking because this story is about HIM and it makes you experience his feelings even stronger. And he‘s right, the most important thing isn’t family. It’s people who love and accept you the way you are. So glad the dad was a good guy though.
