The Killing of Two Lovers 2020
Disgustingly brilliant. Feels so ancient in its craft. Long looonnngggggg takes cutting precisely at the correct time and putting the camera in the perfect place. The eye of the filmmaker is hard to identify which gives the camera an ominous feeling of someone watching precisely how much it needs to see. Performances, sound, production design, direction, photography, and screenplay flawless.
Really suggest seeing this. This caliber comes around only so often and is important for people who love the craft to support good work.

Beginners 2010
One of my favorite films in awhile. Brings its realism through persistent quirky nuances and feel so hyper specific they give our two lovers a wonderful space to find a real connection. Mike mills can make something seemingly autobiographical and structure it in a way that it reaches universally.
