After 10 years of not having any theatrical releases in the lord of the rings franchise, Coming back with a animated movie that is based on around 2 and a half pages of text is certainly a move.
One can imagine that creative liberties where taken (Hera was a name the filmmakers came up with, the invaders that helped Wulf where likely Corsairs + they where also the reason why Gondor didn't aid since they where also attacked by Corsairs…
