Raya and the Last Dragon 2021
I was glad to have watched Raya with a friend, because this film is simply not worth 30 dollars. That isn't to say it's bad, it has the foundations of something quite good. Unfortunately that something is a tv show. Very clearly cribbing inspiration from Avatar The Last Airbender, the story paints a rich tapestry of a world that we only see a few threads of.
I liked the characters, especially the main non-vape cloud antagonist, and Raya herself. But again, this is a story that needed to be told in a TV show, not a single film

Watched this as part of a movie night with my Twitter Groupchat, but our host's connection kept failing so we were stuck in an eternal loop of watching the Senator risking it all and a skull.
