There are clear elements that separate this film from a classic war depiction. I believe it captures essential forms of humanity, which unfortunately are always a product of violence. The ending let me down slightly although after further reflection I don’t think this “good ending” is as good as it first appears.

Into the Wild 2007
After spending so long analyzing the book I had a large investment of hope for its visual counterpart, and I would say those expectations met, mostly. One of the more unique films I’ve seen (mainly due to the incoherence in directive style, which I still can’t tell if that’s intentional) and combines elements of cinematography and biographic storytelling just like the book does.
