Like the best of the Cohen brothers.
The stakes are so high, the atmosphere filled with dread. Doesn't shy away from anything: cringe, intensity, psychological mind games... Most of the twists happen within the heads of these well thought out characters--heroes, antiheroes, villains? Who do you want to win or lose? What's real and what isn't?
Really amazing work.
Its hermetic style would work as a play also, I think. Very cool.

Brawl in Cell Block 99 2017
I had no idea where this film was going and loved it too.
A symbolic, irreversible journey into the underworld for redemption, in exploitation style. Razor-sharp dialogue, the violence both excessive and oddly fake making it border on the surreal, and yet somehow the whole thing is so goddamn FUN too.
Instant classic.
Vince Vaughn = weird choice though. Wedding Crashers 3: Prison Crashers!
