Yojimbo 1961
Toshirō Mifune walked so Clint Eastwood could run, but in all honesty Eastwood could never meet the screen presence that Mifune had. This film wouldn't have worked if anyone played the main protagonist. Tatsuya Nakadai makes his first named character appearance for Kurosawa as the opposing figure. I know that once Mifune moves off from Kurosawa that Nakadai become his staple actor for a few of his important films.

What an absolute anxiety filled thrill ride.
Where does one even begin to break this film down? Garland crafted a film that isn’t entirely true to its title, but if you take what it is that he presented you are almost certainly guaranteed to form some strong opinions on it.
