No Country for Old Men 2007
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
I don’t exactly remember when I watched this movie, so I’m putting it here.
The film works best for me when it’s Josh Brolin’s character running from Anton. I can appreciate the artistic merit of this film, but there are personally two things I hate about this movie:
1) Josh Brolin’s character just randomly fucking dies in a gang attack about 2/3rds the way into the film. No big confrontation with Anton, no cool fight, nothing. It feels like my…

Face/Off 1997
I love this movie! It’s such a goofy ass movie but it also is just a really good time. Nic Cage carries every scene he’s in, regardless of if he is playing Archer or Troy. Travolta also dues a really good job in this one, especially when needing to match the manic energy of Troy. As entertaining as it may have been at times, there was a lot of incompetent shit in this film. Gramm destroyed key evidence by smashing the phone at the end, somehow wasn’t arrested after exiting his burning down home despite just being told a few minutes ago there’s a warrant out on him, and somehow was able to immediately solve his car issue by commandeering a cab.
Sure, a serial killer enticing a copycat to work for him is in…

2001: A Space Odyssey 1968
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
It’s a work of art, that’s for sure. In terms of storytelling (which is why I watch movies), it leaves a lot to be desired. For 1968, HAL9000 would be a revolutionary character (and villain, for that matter), but in modern day, especially when everyone lauds it as a great villain, I honestly just can’t see it.
Basically, the film focus more on spectacle than telling a story. This left me feeling lost as to what was going on, and overall disengaged. I feel like I should have been on acid watching this film, maybe I would have enjoyed it better then.
