Might be a bit harsh because it was still great filmmaking. But I’ve been looking forward to this for a while! It’s funny and has plenty of heart. It just won’t be one that I think about too much. Pattinson and Collette are the standouts.

Little Women 2019
Perfectly crafted. Never seen this story in a linear fashion and I don’t really plan to.
It’s kinda crazy that Parasite won best picture over this. Both are exceptional but this is the most traditional best picture nominee from that year. Kind of a testament to how different the voting body of the Academy is now.
Kinda sucks that Gerwig is now about to do a Narnia trilogy for Netflix. I’m sure it will be good but I want to see a lot more movies written and directed by her, starring Saiorse Ronan, Timothée Chalamet, and Florence Pugh.

The Apprentice 2024
It’s the best a movie about Donald Trump could possibly be at the moment. It’s tough to spend such a long period with a real, reprehensible person that’s still very much in our lives. Some really great moments and performances. Sebastian Stan made excellent choices.
