Gone With the Wind is a movie that probably shouldn't exist. I mean this in a lot of ways: Narratively, the film (at least to my modern eyes) struggles to appropriately balance it’s depiction of the Reconstruction-era South with the tragedy and romantic toils of its central characters, and on occasion awkwardly swings back and forth between the two. This is a tough film to evaluate properly, both for the same Phase Four Marvel fatigue that has plagued every marvel release in some way since Avengers: Endgame, and because of the Chadwick Boseman-sized hole in the film. That Ryan Coogler and co. were able to make as emotionally narratively coherent as this one (mostly) is a miracle.
