I desperately wanted to like this film but none of it clicked for me. There was little to no depth to any character in the film: the Kim family seem to be the bourgeois stereotype of poor lumpenproletariat layabouts that are good for absolutely nothing and merely take advantage of the Park family (and everyone else in the film), who come off as terribly nice and whose only faults shown are an unbelievable naiveté and living in a world completely…

really don't get the hype, borderline unwatchable. maybe like 5% of the humor landed for me. the heartfelt moments didn't have an impact because the movie was so preoccupied with the "random" comedy/explaining the multiverse stuff that none of the characters or relationships felt fleshed out. somehow aggressively un-funny. bummer because it is an interesting premise but it was such a miss for me.
