By the middle of this movie, you’re wondering why this dude keeps trying to exploit the voodoo practitioners in Haiti, after all the spiritual attacks he’s endured. And then by the end of the film, you’re like “oh right, white dudes, even the ones who consider themselves ‘good’ are willing to put the almighty dollar above black people’s lives and safety.” What the movie doesn’t go into that the book does, is that these voodoo practitioners were using the powder…
