Dinner in America 2020
I got to watch this for the first time in a packed theater and I didn’t know what I was in for. It felt like a throw back to the late 90’s/early 2000’s comedies with it’s edginess and brand of humor but at the core is a punk rock coming of age love story and the leads in this are so fucking good. Simon and Patty could’ve been one dimensional caricatures but they feel authentic to people you might've come across at school or a punk show somewhere. Also prepare for the “Watermelon” song to be stuck in your head forever.
