National Theatre Live: Othello 2013
Iagoooo the shakespeare character of all time methinks! Rory Kinnear slayed (literally) but I felt this more subtle and mysterious Iago was often overshadowed by Othello’s dramatic ass. Ofc we love Emilia, this was my fav Desdemona I’ve ever seen, and Jonathon Bailey as Cassio was just the cherry on top!!

Waitress: The Musical 2023
You gotta love Waitress! This felt like a very specific version though bc it’s directed like more of a movie than a musical? The normally heightened broadway acting is subdued and the characters are more naturalistic; this works sometimes but the problem is that it’s still very much a contemporary comedy Broadway musical.
More thoughts bc why not:
— Sara Bareilles’ power is in her voice for sure!! Her tone and technique are so distinct and omg her vocal choices…
