  I read Normal People last year and I didn't like it all that much, I just felt like it wasn't for me. I honestly started watching this as a joke with my other friend who also dislikes the book but somehow we both ended up loving it. I felt so emotionally detached from the novel whereas this had me actually in tears??? That ending hurt. Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones were seriously brilliant.
