It’s pretty easy for a movie like this to be gassed up (pun intended). There is a dedicated moviegoing audience that want to see 2D animation get it’s time in the spotlight again, as do I. This is especially this case when it’s produced by a larger Hollywood studio.

Man, I kinda forgot that there is a literal shadowy figure that stalks these teens and has supernatural powers that goes against the laws of physics. What a bizarre thing for this franchise to just have.

I’m really not understanding the praise here. It just feels like a bunch of unfinished ideas poorly stitched together with very little cohesive tissue. There could’ve been an interesting premise somewhere in this, but the movie barely dives into it, choosing to just make up lore as it goes along.
