  not usually an english dub person, but the cast was so stacked (also it was the first option that popped up). the whole film looked really beautiful and i esp liked the way the fire was animated in the beginning (all the blur in those scenes!). the film felt like spirited away but i think the scenes in this film weren't as engaging, so it felt like it dragged on forever. tbh i think i would've enjoyed it more if i was high, but the highlight was lesbian-coded fisherwoman and how i kinda want mahito's chop...

  it's kinda just sad throughout, but all the animals are so cute and it's so well-animated. i esp liked how smoothly the camera would switch from POV to a wide shot, like the camera was v dynamic the whole time. glad the film ended on a sweet note :,)

  i know i’m so late to the gayest party ever but i totally get why this film is enshrined in gay cinema. great cast, fun soundtrack, good storyline, and great writing with lots of amazing quotes (“foreplay is for sissies!” is the only one i can remember off the top of my head but there were many gems, trust). the costumes and production (and the colors for both) are so well done! and glad to have a happy gay ending :,)

  starting to get why there's like eight of these...
