Touching, thoroughly human and emotional at its core; yet simultaneously horrifying, brutal and raw as well. Some of the most beautiful and powerful uses of cinematography matched with some of the most harrowing story beats and the haunting score from Giacchino. Beautiful.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo 2011

It’s enthralling. Fincher pulls you into this disgusting and deeply sociopolitical narrative. It’s without a doubt Finchers darkest entry in his filmography and there are some scenes that really caught me off guard in the worst possible ways (see the cat scene for elaboration).
From start to finish he maintains your attention whilst simultaneously capturing some of the best shots of his entire career; this goes in tandem with some of the better Fincher dialogue, there is no line ever…Translated from by

The Thing from Another World 1951
A disappointing attempt at horror, tonally bipolar it’s stacked with a cast of completely unmemorable characters matched with an equally unmemorable visual style. Boring, forgettable and not once scary.

Presence 2024
Steven Soderbergh releases what may be one of the most divisive movies of the year. I can respect Soderbergh’s unique take on the genre and visually the movie is absolutely not only unique, but pretty stunning IMO.
The four main actors in this film all pull their weight most of the time but man you can really separate the more seasoned actors in this film. Lucy Liu is absolutely phenomenal especially in those last minutes.
Overall it’s a great showing…
