Das Boot 1981
One of the most grimy, horrifying, and realistic interpretations of naval warfare in the 2nd World War. Character development is great and thank god because half the time the crew is sitting around waiting for shit to hit the fan. The juxtaposition between the crew’s boredom and anxiety on the regular with the sudden and horrific scenes of combat, makes you question every aspect of what it means to be trapped in a metal box no larger than a medium sized home with 40 other people.
