I did not expect to like this so much! It's just a really fun movie. Acting is top tier, plot is engaging, and the comedic bits hit perfectly.
Midway through watching this, I realized it's basically "Whiplash but fashion," but since Whiplash is one of my favorite movies (and since this movie came out *first*), that's not a bad thing at all!
It's not the deepest movie ever, but it's a top-tier popcorn flick. Overall, this is just a well-contained fun time and I'd be happy to watch it again.

I can understand why there's a cult following to it -- the graphics were very cool for something from the early 80s... but the dialogue and plot is just a complete miss for me.
