i can't tell if this is a love letter or a hate letter to los angeles. that doesn't matter though, wow, this was really incredible stuff. it was shot so beautifully, the storytelling was just wonderful, the pacing was great, everything about it just works. not to mention so enlightening and human and real. i just loved it.

very powerfully directed. im very glad this was made because these things, this exact scenario, does happen. a couple months ago, a kid at my high school was accused of sexually assaulting a woman on the subway. a couple days later, he's walking the halls, going to class, laughing with his friends. it is insane to me that both people had to continue living their lives, had to keep moving forward, and his life seemed pretty intact, pretty okay, while hers was drastically affected. i hope that woman is okay.
