felt like i was watching a loose adaptation of "and the hippos were boiled in their tanks" rather than a retelling of a true story. although, i didnt quite enjoy the handling of the night in question, the film does a wonderful job capturing the initial pulse of america's most influential literary movement, with this crime at the very heart of it. also loved how they used jazz to showcase their creative folly.
the casting was pretty good, they truly embodied the essence of the beatniks. didnt expect ben foster to be such an incredible young burroughs, he got his voice right and nailed his mannerisms!
