This masterpiece picture is like a slow river you can lay yourself in; admiring the nature while it carries you in its warmth.

A satisfying comfort-(re)watch. Was expecting a bit snappier writing from Ephron after being more familiar with her. Meryl, of course, is quite amazing, with a surprisingly sweet turn from Adams (how critics circles and major award season staples completely escaped her without even a nomination is yet unknown to me).

Whew, Carey Mulligan's back sure must ache as fuck carrying this whole movie on her shoulders.

This had so much potential, and yet it missed every single expectation of mine except for one - the only thing that kept me watching is Mulligan's masterclass in acting. Apart from her, you get a movie as hollow as the character of Cassie is supposed to be after her friends' tragic death: scene after scene with no flow, tonal shifts and 'gotcha!' moments nearly every cut. If only this was better directed and written...

A yearly tradition - and running inside joke - with my friends and I was that when we were approaching our bedtime at 3AM on New Years' Eve, we'd put this on. I feel asleep every time. But now I actually took the time to FINALLY watch this, and I wasn't disappointed: Inside Out is an imaginative and compelling, almost perfectly crafted Pixar landmark. And yet, somehow, it failed to immerse me fully. A worthy watch, still.
